Hunting in PERU
Peru is re-opening its international sport hunting season after almost 40 years of closures. This is a successful effort from the sport hunting associations such as ASOCIPE and SCI Central Peru.
If you plan to visit Peru, follow these recommendations:
1. Hire a reputable outfitter. We can provide you with a list of national outfitters.
2. Bring your own firearm, you will need it to get a sport hunting license. Your outfitter can request the permits to import it into the country. If you hunt with bow and arrow you will also need a permit to enter with your equipment.
3. Send in advance all information related to your equipment/firearm and personal information to your outfitter so he can apply for your permits.
4. A conservation fee will be applied per specie. This conservation fee will be the foundation of a Conservation Trust.
The hunting season is open from May 1st to November 30th 2010 and includes white tailed deer as big game, waterfowl and upland game.
